Today’s Arizona Republic quoted two economic experts- Marshall Vest of the University of Arizona (Eller College of Management), and Tracy Clark of Arizona State University(W.P. Carey School of Business).  Both had rather moderate views on the current housing slowdown.

 According to Marshall Vest, “Housing is backtracking as it returns to some sense of normalcy.”  Tracy Clark states “Even with the housing slowdown we still have quite a bit of population growth.  As long as that continues, construction is going to stay at a reasonably high level, although at a noticeably lower level then we’ve been having.”

I thought it would be interesting to look at some recent numbers to see how they stacked up with recent years.
