On Sunday August 6th, Housingdoom reported that the Phoenix vacancy rate was at 44% of total listings or 20,414 vacant out of 46,338 listings. The post did not give the single family vacancy rate, but that number was 16,548 of 39,026 or 42.5%.
Thursday Jay Butler of the Arizona Real Estate Center released his July report on the Phoenix resale numbers. Unlike other recent reports, he chose to address the vacancy rate- but here was his comment:
