Housingdoom's Twist to Speak at the Arizona Breakfast Club

If you live in Phoenix and don’t mind getting up a little early on a Saturday, I’ll be speaking at the Arizona Breakfast Club‘s meeting December 2nd.  The topic will be the Phoenix housing market. The Arizona Breakfast Club has been meeting since 1969. Many of their speakers have a political bent (Barry Goldwater used to address this group now and again.) but my agenda continues to be the state of the housing market.  Here’s the details:

Sure, it is only a couple of thousand miles for me and for JMF add a few more miles. Actually I am kidding my wife wrks for an airline so it would not be difficult if I could get time off from work.

BTW isn’t Coco’s that chain that has those fantastic strawberry pies in June? I love those. Now if they could only have all you can eat strwberry pies!

    twist -

If there’s anything chocolate, save some for me. ;)

Coco’s has great pies- wrong season for strawberry though.

It’s true it’s a bit of a distance- but the weather is great. I slept with the windows open last night- it’s 77F at the moment. I think we’re having Thanksgiving dinner out on the patio.

Rub it in why don’t you. Our high today was 42 degrees. BTW, my wife put in for a transfer to PHX and they tapped her last week on friday. She ws to be in PHX by december 1st. We just could not do it.

So when are the strawberry pies in season? We used to visit my sisterinlaw in SLC and the Frontier Pies had them from May to June if I am not mistaken. I thought I remembered the same for the Coco’s in Tucson when I was there.

    Metroplexual-

Being able to brag about our winter helps compensate for the horrific summer AC bills. My husband has a customer in SD, he loves to wait until there’s a blizzard up there, then call and tell them how he almost was tempted to put a sweater on while golfing.

Spring is definitely the time for strawberries. You can get them now, but the prices aren’t as good. I put up a bunch of fresh strawberry jam last April when they were on sale- and made strawberry pie with the leftovers.

So are you still coming to PHX, or just not by 12/1?

    John-

Anything chocolate around here rarely survives long around our tech support!

    Twist,

Eventually yes, but now that we said no we have to wait 6 months for her to put in again. We will probably have me relocate first while waiting for her to get the transfer. That might be easier due to her ability to commute to work. Believe it or not the pay for my profession is better out there and my wife gets no differential in pay scale so with more money than the NYC metro area and the standard of living out there it is a no brainer.

As for the weather there is always some place nice to be, tat is what they made airplanes for. :)

If I lived nearby I would attend just to meet the infamous Twist.

    Knock ‘em dead!
