Phoenix Housing Sales Close Out 2006 With a Whimper

HousingDoom has the unofficial sales numbers for Phoenix, thanks to one of our favorite sources.  December posted a total of 5,480 sales, up from 5,310 in November (3.2%), but down year over year from last December’s 6528 by 16%.  According to the Arizona Regional MLS, December sales for the previous few years were as follows:

The Growth of Doom

Ever wonder how many people actually wander by HousingDoom?  On June 1 we opened our doors with this really thought provoking post  (I like to think we’ve gotten better :  ). Since then, we’ve enjoyed rather explosive growth.

Mr. Twist is our site statistician (that means he tracks the Doom stats–for better or worse, the housing stats are my doing.) and he put together this report for us comparing December’s traffic with last July’s:

  • In June there were 105 different sites that linked back to Doom.  In December there were 317.
  • In July there were 17 sites that provided 100 or more referrals back to Doom.  In December there were 38 sites that sent us 100 or more referrals.
  • In July we had visitors from 48 different countries.  In December we had visitors from 91 countries.
  • The top countries, in terms of total visitors, from outside the U.S. and Canada [corrected, thanks techscan!] in July were France, UK, Japan, Mexico, and Sweden.  In December it was UK, Australia, Germany, Japan, and Spain.
  • The top five U.S. states, in terms of visitors, for July were California, Arizona, Florida, Washington and New York.  Top five for December were California, Arizona, Nevada, Florida and New York
  • The top five Canadian provinces, in terms of visitors for July: Nova Scotia, B.C., Alberta, Ontario, and Quebec. The top five for Dec.:  Ontario, B.C., Nova Scotia, Alberta, and Quebec.
