Hard Criticism from a Reader

Doom Reader Old Mike and I both go back about six months, which was not long after the dawn of Doom. Twist happened to choose me instead of him to help out with the posts and sidebar, although on reflection my ability to correct Mike’s spelling of Illuminati is perhaps a bit overrated.

On Wednesday, in Twist’s absence, I seem to have put my foot in it. Mike has often been critical of my posts and (especially) sidebar picks, but Friday’s effort rose to a new level and scored some direct hits, IMHO.

Like Mike, I’ve got great respect for Twist. Am I holding back her work? Twist is the judge but Doom readers are the Jury. Help me out here.

Like Kernels Popping

A few days ago Twist and I were reflecting on the folding in rapid succession of sub-prime lenders Ownit and Sebring. It seemed to us like the scattered explosions at the start of popcorn popping. Since then, several other lenders have more or less stopped operations. In recent days we followed the demise of Connecticut’s Mortgage Lenders Network. Just yesterday, Crispy reported [1] that Secured Funding had gone out of business. Also on Friday, in yesterday’s Ben’s bits (scroll down), Crispy points out Decision One as a possible next victim.
