It’s January- and the Phoenix Housing Market is Cold

While our northern neighbors may not feel for us, the past few days Phoenicians have had to deal with covering our flowers and scraping the frost off of our windshields. We’ve been rummaging through closets for jackets and sweaters to deal with the sudden chill. 

Our housing market isn’t looking a lot warmer.  As always THANK YOU to our gracious source for our mid-month update:

“Core” Meltdown

It’s just another synonym for "falsified"

Last Friday self-described Jeopardy! champion James Pethokoukis posted an interesting opinion piece [1] in the big MSM weekly US News & World Report. He cited the "surprising" strength in US December "core" retail sales. This core value is calculated by throwing out the data from a selection of sectors that happened to be doing badly that month.

Doomers, back in the 1970s when I was taking first year stats from Professor K.D.C. Haley at Acadia, we had a name for that. It was called lying.
