In the January 17 Arizona Republic, there was an article entitled Established Districts Losing Students.  The article discusses the difficulties of declining enrollments in the more established districts, and what they are doing to attract students.  The article also stated:

Overall, the Valley’s public school enrollment continues to climb, including thousands of new students in the Gilbert, Deer Valley, Chandler and Dysart districts.

In the print version was a chart showing the growth of selected school districts in the area over the past couple of years.  [No hyperlink available]  What struck me, though, was that it appears that the growth rate is slowing in the faster growing districts as well.  Slower growth could prove to be a significant factor in how quickly the Phoenix housing market absorbs the housing inventory.

According to Jay Butler, director of Realty Studies at Arizona State University’s Polytechnic campus:

Even in a slowing year, the local resale housing market should show historical improvement in a rapidly growing area like Greater Phoenix.
