The Crack of Doom – Week of June 18, 2007

It’s hard to believe, but summer starts this week and that means I’m up to my ears in rehearsals with the choir that supports the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo. Doomers visiting Halifax might just catch a glimpse of me waaaaay up in the back. I’ll be in and out until July 8th, but will be here to follow warm weather RE adventures as much as possible until then.

Please continue to drop your finds in the Reply box. The last few weeks have been amazing, and I’m sure there will be lots more surprises in store before the summer ends.

    Jan-Martin (comment #16) -

“This is like deja vu all over again.” This has much the same feel as early January when Aaron was just starting up Implode-O-Meter and he and Crispy were all over Mortgage Lenders Network. In fact, seeing ML (for “Merrill Lynch”) in stories yesterday I kept reading “Mortgage Lenders” instead.

Now we’ve got a totally separate special purpose vehicle unwinding in a messy fashion. Correct me if I’m wrong, but the players in these SPVs are so intimately tangled up, it wouldn’t take many more reports like this to start an irreversible counter-party chain reaction.
