Op-Ed Friday- You'll Have to Indulge Me

I’ll have to start this Op-Ed Friday by first apologizing to all of our regular contributing [and much appreciated] agents.  I hope you know I love you guys!  That said, in some perverse way, I just thought  this video was too funny to pass up:

If you’re still speaking to me, I hope you’ll forward your thoughts, comments, links etc. to us.

As always, this thread’s for you!

    :-) !

Almost as funny as this one from the UK

Bank of England To Rescue Northern Trust / Stock Tanking / BOE A Paper Tiger ?

    @John
Looks like the tough talk from the BOE was only talk…..

    Deliciously nasty.

Almost as amusing as the inflatable pool exploding head video (just search for it! you’ll find it!!)

    Aaaahhh, the schadenfreude.

Is it just me twist, or did you hand-select the anti-spam words for posting? I keep getting things like “explode” and “atomic” and today’s favorite, “implode”. Nice.

    JimAL-

The list was compiled by our sys admin, who seems to manage to find a gloomier set every couple of months. Which word you actually get though, is up to Igor’s discretion. For some reason, he always seems to find the right word for the occasion. Go figure.

The pot calling the kettle [like a woman of ill repute]:

Greenspan looks at the dust in Republican eyes; ignores log in his own.

    WC-

I read that too, and about strangled. He’s been on the hot seat here lately for his policies, and maybe he’s looking for a Yeah, but not as bad as these guys! defense.

I know I should turn away. I know I shouldn’t chuckle. I know these things and yet I just can’t help but watch it and smirk. Yes, that was evil Twist, and yes I liked it too.

Greenspan alert on US house prices

US house prices are likely to fall significantly from their present levels, Alan Greenspan has told the Financial Times, admitting that there was a bubble in the US housing market.

In an interview ahead of the release on Monday of his widely-anticipated memoirs, the former chairman of the Federal Reserve said the decline in house prices “is going to be larger than most people expect”.

Mr Greenspan said he would expect “as a minimum, large single-digit” percentage declines in US house prices from peak to trough and added that he would not be surprised if the fall was “in double digits”.

  11. twist says:

    NVMike-

If there was a double digit fall for US house prices, imagine what kind of drops those of us in “bubble” cities will see.

    Bad Bad Twist,
I guess I will still speak to you despite your perverse little post. As a Real Estate professional with a sense of humor I have to admit it was a little funny. Fortunately I have developed great relationships with my clients and have established a successful career. In my experience I have had the opportunity to work with many respectable agents. Congratulations, on making the International Listings Top 100 Real Estate Blogs List. Keep up the Good work!
