Roubini: "I'm Very Worried About the U.S. Economy"

This Roubini clip has been floating around for a few weeks, but I didn’t see it until yesterday.  He’s speaking on the Super SIV Fund, the U.S. financial system, recession, and the falling dollar.  He is, as always, the most bearish economist out there:

After the pablum we get from the economists/analysts/salesmen out there, Roubini is always a refreshing change.

I certainly find him more credible than the political pundits or “talking heads” of the mainstream business media.

    Very sobering message.

I have been wondering “Where the h*ll is Beeks?”

Roubini has immense credibility with me, because 1) he’s been dead right so far, 2) he’s not affiliated with the think tank that gets funded by politically-aligned contributions, and 2a) he isn’t connected to the government, and 2b) he isn’t affiliated with a firm with an axe to grind in the financial markets.

Roubini isn’t counting the resilience of the American public. 10 years ago, if you have been told that oil prices were going to be $100 per barrel. You would have predicted a recession. Despite the oil prices, the sub prime and the Iraq War, I still pick the USA as the best place to be on the face of the earth.
My website http://www.ReallyNiceHomes.com attracts investors and foreclosure seekers. I sense and share their passion for investing in real estate. I purchased stocks after 9-11 and I’m purchasing real estate right now!

You have no idea how much you sound like PT Barnum.

We’re supposed to think everything is peachy, when leading indicators of all types are turning from yellow to red.

You’re buying real estate now, even though the market will decline and bottom in five to ten years?

Thanks. That’s all I need to know about you and your blog.

    See you in hell.

Or, downtown Phoenix. Hard to tell in the summer.

Well, I’m kind of glad I don’t live in hell like you do. . . .I live in DC and as a working Realtor had 3 offers for one of my listings in Rockville Maryland !!! so I guess I’m glad I work where the jobs are.
The indicators you have in Phoenix may be red for the next five years. . . but my indicators in the Washington Metropolitan area are GREEN. . .like Dollar GREEN ! BUY NOW !
