Just signed up recently after months of reading. This is a very topical site related to what I do. Although I’m not directly involved in real estate my job depands on a vibrant REM. I may not be employed due to a projected downturn in 2008 but I AM THANKFUL that my house is payed off, we have no credit card or auto debt, my wife works, the kids are smart (and good looking), and future is never as grim as it may seem today. I believe luck is directly related to the decisions we make.

Wow- especially when you consider that they’ve built a house or two since 3/06.

Americans have to be feeling poorer- I’ll be surprised if retailers have a lucrative holiday season.

FYI: I just stumbled upon the Census reporting that the total value of all “private residential construction put in place” has already dropped a whopping 26.5 % since March of 2006… Ouch…

Twist & fellow Doomers-
I was fortunate enough to learn of this site last spring from an Arizona Republic article.
For that I am eternally thankful as it was a catalyst in my evolving philosophy on real estate.
Metro- I have spent a little over 2 years in rural Wisconsin dodging wild turkey and other wildlife on a daily basis. I feel your pain..
