AZSaluki-

I drove by my old house in Gilbert and saw there was an abandoned house around the corner- and i didn't even check out the rest of the neighborhood. I dropped off my daughter at a friend's house near the new mall in Gilbert, there were a bunch of abandoned homes in there.

I used to have to go out to QC or Maricopa, but the blight is moving in.

Beatles and Elvis songs in the heart of an exurban residential construction zone.

http://www.azcentral.com/community/swvalley/articles/0228swv-mania0229.html

This new Sun City is adjacent to another new Pulte (non-age restricted) development that started up in '06. I wonder when (or if) these subdivisions will be completed.

Twist,

"Communities, homes, or acts of real estate?"

Nothing specific comes to mind, but when you get into town drive about a mile (it doesn't matter in what direction) and you'll find what you're looking for (although i'm sure i don't have to tell you this).

Actually, I just saw that Randall Martin Home has let four developments go into foreclosure. However, there's nothing out of the norm here. Four more neighborhoods with a mix of families living in homes, finished vacant homes, half built homes, empty lots and nobody to take your phone calls (much less fix anything that IS still under original warranty). I really do feel bad for these families that were shown a model home and a brochure with a picture of a gorgeous neighborhood, big clubhouse, pools, parks, etc.....only to be looking directly through the half built home next to them at an empty lot. Nevermind the fact that they now have to go out of pocket to fix plumbing and other issues that are under a warranty that's now worthless.
