This individual is dispicable. They are stripping the house, whats next the wiring and water pipes for the copper? The stainless steel sink for the scrap? I remember the early nineties meltdown well and even saw a TV show where the guy being foreclosed on had a big party where on film he chainsawed a hole in his upstairs floor. The banks are going to have their hands full and I guess this will keep the contractors busy.
Metro-
My guess is that if he’ll sell you the AC, he wouldn’t be opposed to parting with the wiring or the pipes either.
Another one of those folks who either a)read the contract when they signed it, or b)didn’t mean it when they did.
Well, Metro is being nicer than I would be in regards to people who trash their house during foreclosure. These people are scumbags that need to be held accountable for their actions. I get tired of hearing how all these home owners were taken advantage of so they are getting their revenge. BS! Most of these idiots should have never owned a house and need to go back to their trailer park.
Mistermoose-
I suspect most of these homedebtors never really owned the house in the first place. They got 100% financing with a teaser rate. The house always belonged to the bank and they got to live in a better place than rational lending standards allowed.
I agree there is no excuse for this uncivilized behavior.
I don’t know how I am being nice MM. I guess I need to use a stronger word of hatrid than dispicable. Okay I detest, loathe, abhor, abominate and repudiate these types of people.
Metro- [and Mistermoose]
You have my appreciation for language becoming a gentleman. Despicable works for me. There are, of course, a number of other terms that might have come to mind, but I’d have whipped out my asterisks! : )
Actually, I couldn’t be happier abouot this. Remember, the ones who will ultimately - and yes, it will take a long time - be hurt most by this are the same moth&rF#cke*s who should have never been let anywhere near this house. So when this dummy strips his house, screws the bank, stiffs the developer and trashes the neignborhood it will make the stark reality of the lesson to be learned all that dramatic.
The worst thing that could happen is for this guy to clean the place, slap on a freash coat of paint drop off the keys so the bank can show it the next day. No, these bankers must really FEEL the hassle, and the anger, and the loss that their loose lending stanmdards caused because ultimately that is the only thing that will restore sanity to this market, and with it more affordable housing.
And, it will keep scumbags like this in the trailer park next time.

Why? What purpose does destruction serve, other than to prove that you have no class?
Also, who says that loose lending standards were the cause? Many think that borrower/flipper greed was the true cause. After all, they’re the ones that lied on the loans, knowingly overextended themselves, and then signed the docs, agreeing to pay every last cent back. Loose lending was an enabler, but it took far more than that to arrive where we are today.
