Will Sell Wedding Ring To Avoid Foreclosure

From Friday’s Craigslist:

Yellow Gold, 1/2 carat diamond S1 quality with attached wedding band with 7 diamonds, and channel set anniversary ring with 7 diamonds. Total of 3 rings for $1200 – must sell to avoid foreclosure. Contact Peggy….

You have to believe that if Peggy manages to sell the ring, she is probably only postponing the inevitable for another month.  How many Peggys are out there?

I suspect there are many dramas being played out on Craigslist. Remember the flippers needing to rent their houses to stay afloat?

BTW, I have an add for wedding rings on the page due to your topic.

Maybe this story is true, and I feel for the legitimate stories. However, I think anyone who wants to sell something on Craiglist will use the foreclosure sob story.

    Mistermoose-

You do always have to wonder. I suppose it could be a divorce where she just wants to unload it and a foreclosure was added to give it a note of desperation.

When surveyed however, the majority of Americans indicate they are against bailouts, so foreclosure isn’t a good choice to pick if you are out to pull heartstrings. Medical bills would be better.

Given that most folks are embarassed by being in foreclosure, and that most women are awfully desperate before they part with their wedding ring, I tend to believe this one.

Blood diamonds! They are probably foreclosing and splitting up! Maybe he left already and she’s like what do I need these for?

You see married people in all kinds of debt trouble all the time. It’s not always the woman running up the credit cards either, sometimes it gets to be a contest between the two. You would think two heads would be better than one, but sometimes two people spend way more than one can.

    Just a question…

postponing what for a month? Foreclosure or Divorce?

  8. Linenoise says:

If this IS true, and they ARE staying married, her husband is screwed.

Anytime he starts to win an argument, she can bust out “Well, I had to pawn our wedding rings because YOU couldn’t keep your family in our home!”

By the way, and on an entirely different subject, here is a link to Evelyn Pringle’s long awaited article on Obama’s links to Rezko.

Read it and weep, because, folks, it’s all here: names, dates, places, amounts and schemes.

He’s finished now. You heard it here first:

    jryskmpr,

What’s your deal with Obama. are you a Clinton operative? I went to the site and pringle’s article is 19 pages. Key word is EDIT. Who’s got the time? Everyone knows Chicago is very corrupt. The people will speak and whatever will be will be.

Fake listing. I suspect this tactic will get overdone, shortly. Sorta like the way ‘house staging’ was used/abused during the boom.

What are we selling next month??

  13. pokey says:

That’s way too much for that ring.

She is nuts if she wants 1200 for that.

The foreclosure-sob-story is a gamble. Some people may feel pity for this woman, but plenty will think she’s a greedy dolt who’s gotten what she deserves.

Why pay $1200.00 for this ring when you can probably get something nicer for less money at the local pawn shop?
