I have to give credit where credit is due.

I appreciate the sidebar as well- John has a two hour start on me generally, so like a lot of folks, I check the sidebar in the morning to see what’s going on!

The lion’s share of the credit goes to John and L these days. “Old Mike” was the one who dubbed John our resident “Mr. Universe”. I think it suits him. : )

Both John and L have a gift for finding the day’s important stories. If I get too link happy, I’ll roll the sidebar before folks have a chance to read what we’ve got for the day. [We've lengthened the sidebar a couple of times to try and avoid that.]

I also get links from other regulars- so my thanks to all our contributors!

Off topic, but I just wanted to give Twist and John a quick thanks for the ever-informative collection of news links you provide on the right hand side of the main page.

I don’t know how you gather them all, but you certainly do a great job there – it sure beats stuff like Google News.

Igor says outraged. This is mindboggling how dishonest the whole system has become. I guess when you vote you somehow try to look past all the dishonesty and just vote for the candidates that share your other ideals. This has become so counter-intuitive. Voting for the lesser of 2 evils. A new word for Igor should be whyvote.
