I must have deleted that one before even reading it. If I'd have read it, I'd have slammed them back with a big fat f... you email. As an agent in CA and soon to be in NV, I get steamed at the bullsh*t feeding we get from service providers including our own support system.

Within the individual office, however, it's in the mode of breaking down. Managers are either getting fired to save the broker the money or they're stealing agents from other offices due to their matter-of-fact brutal honesty. Agents won't make money now unless they're brutal with slap-your-face-silly honesty.

It's the agents now who are fighting back and not taking the sickeningly sweet title reps kissing their butts - some are sick of NAR and the MLS and even kicking each others butts for not being straight on the MLS.

When I was in Long Beach, CA, last week, I saw the tricks used in the 90's recession - they're back! Put a For Sale sign in your own front yard, "your own" front yard to attract buyers. And, leave a "SOLD" rider on a For Sale sign till kingdom come, hoping to attract more listings. It's been there for 2 months now, after it closed escrow. Come on buddy.

Then, I got to go to a dental appt in Santa Monica and Beverly Hills. Now there's a different view altogether. They may not even know that we're in any kind of economic situation. What a fabulous part of the world. There is building going on as if everything is as it should be. Sweet.

I think if we invert that leading question it works.
In your area what are your expectations for home prices over the next year?
a)Home prices will fall 0-5%
b)Home prices will fall 5-10%
c)Home prices will fall 10-20%
d)Home prices will fall more than 20%
e)Home prices will stay flat over that time period

I'm going to have to go with c.

The NAR never give up. I will give them that. However, I have no sympathy for the people who are still fooled by them. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice (or two hundred times) shame on me.

When people start having to pay for it themselves, we'll see just how necessary a lot of this so-called health care really is. Or we'll see some precipitous price drops. Or both.

This really puts a different face on the people you trust with your most important purchase. I wonder if they still think it's all media hype.
