Of course, if you're a government "leader," cynical and apathetic and discouraged might be what you're going for. Skeptics may need to be answered, where cynics may not. I personally think they get away with it because the majority of the population is not very good at thinking <strike>on their own</strike> about things objectively, and are far too willing to trust the media at face value. The large media outlets, in general, simply regurgitate whatever they're told, or whatever can be sensationalized the most for ratings purposes. Kudos to Twist, John M, and the other bloggers who (sadly enough) do more research than most mainstream news outlets. Guy I used to work with told me the best thing he can teach his kids is to question everything. Not to the point of mistrust, but just to question.
