Cory Doctorow: AP Threatens AP Affiliate over AP YouTube Channel

as quoted in BoingBoing … "Strovel: And we’re an A.P. affiliate for crying out loud! I stumped him on that one. . . . What is really shocking is that they were shocked that they’ve got a YouTube channel that people are embedding on their Websites. He seemed shocked by that. ‘Oh, I am going to have to look into that" is what he told me." [1]

Thanks (and hugs) to Alice M for sending the link along. I believe the technical term for something like that is "own goal."

In 1954-55, after a year away from Broadway, he rejoined the Blueshirts to a hero’s welcome. His style was acrobatic and he seemed to be off his feet as much as he was on them. The maskless Worsley was one of very few true stars in the Rangers’ lineup during the 1950s and early 1960s. Quick with a quip and always good for a quote, Worsley was a reporter’s dream. Asked what NHL team gave him the most trouble, Gump, without missing a beat or batting an eye, answered “The Rangers.”

    Things are getting a bit scary on the limiting of free press/speech front.

    Great blog and thanks for checking EconomicDisconnect over at Seeking Alpha. I got a kick out of that chemistry paper you wrote a while back, over my head unless we are talking nucleotides and phosphate group interactions!

    John,
    very off topic;
    I was wondering if you had any thoughts about the 90% use of the L-form of amino acids for all things biological (instead of D-form) even though there should be no advantage to either?
