I suspect a lot of these &quot;accidental landlords&quot; don&#039;t even bother changing to a rental insurance policy once they move out of the house. Maybe they think that the insurance company will have no way of knowing if the place is a rental or not.  However, if you&#039;ve got serious damage due to vandalism problems, the insurance company is probably going to guess that you don&#039;t live there any more.

I remember the first time I rented out a house.  The agent didn&#039;t describe the rental policy in detail, but I do remember her warning me about it being vacant. I suspect most agents do that- some people just decide saving the cost is worth the risk.</description>

		<description>i read this article the other day and was a bit surprised. i don&#039;t know why i was surprised as i&#039;m pretty sure most people don&#039;t actually read their entire policies? and when it comes to insurance, i&#039;ve always taken the attitude that more than likely, they aint gonna pay!</description>
